With Young Adult and Student Leap Cards, you can save up to 50% on public transport fares across all TFI public transport services, like Bus Eireann or Irish Rail. If you have an NFC enabled iPhone 7 or Android phone, you can also download the Leap Top Up app and use it to add credit to your Leap card on the go!

There are a few different cards available for young people/students – read on below to find the card most suited for you.
Child Leap Card (5-15yrs)
Anyone aged between 5-15yrs can avail of child fares on public transport using the Child (5-15) Leap Card. You can buy Child (5-15) Leap Cards from TFI Leap agents or online.
You can find a list of agents that sell these types of cards here. Enter your location in the search bar and click Search to bring up their locations on the map.
This card costs €3 and a minimum of €5 travel credit will need to be added also.
Child Leap Card (16-18yrs)
Young people aged 16-18yrs are eligible to use a Child (16-18) Leap card to receive child fares on public transport. The young person’s name and photograph is printed on these cards and they can only be purchased online. Select Child (age 16-18) from the drop down menu and click ‘Next’ to begin the process.
This card costs €3 and a minimum of €5 travel credit will need to be added also.
Young Adult (19-23) Leap Card
Young people aged 19-23 years can get a Young Adult Leap Card and use this right up until their 24th birthday. Some young people aged between 19-23 are also in full time third level education, so will be eligible for a Student Leap Card or a Young Adult Leap Card. If you already have a Student Leap Card you’ll get the 50% reduction straight away without having to apply for a new Young Adult Leap Card (19-23). The Young Adult Leap card can only be purchased online.
This card costs €5 and a minimum of €5 travel credit will need to be added also.
Student Leap Card (24+)
All 16-18 year olds, and any 24+ year olds who are in full-time third level education, including further education and training, are entitled to apply for the Student Leap Card (SLC) You may already have a Young Adult Leap card, however once you turn 24 and are in full time education you will need to apply for a Student leap card to receive the 50% travel discount. The Student Leap Card can only be purchased online.

TFI Leap Card Sligo
You can travel on Bus Éireann services in Sligo, with a TFI Leap Card. TFI Leap Card is 30% cheaper than cash single fares and can be used in Sligo on the following bus services:
Bus Éireann S1 – Sligo Town Service
Bus Éireann S2 – Rosses Point / Strandhill via Sligo Town Centre
TFI Leap Cards can be topped up at Payzone TFI Leap agents around the town, or using the Leap Top Up app.
