An International Student Identity card (ISIC) is a student identity card which is internationally accepted. It provides proof of your status as a student, access to student discounts as well as student facilities and services globally. Often students get this card before school trips abroad or while studying and travelling to show proof of being a student while in other countries.
Who is eligible for a ISIC?
If you’re a full-time student at school, college or university you can apply for the ISIC student card. There is no upper age limit. Proof of full time student status will be required at time of application.
*If you are not a student but under 30 years of age you may be eligible for an International Youth Travel card (IYTC) which provides similar benefits and discounts as the ISIC.
How do I get a card?
You can visit the International Student Identity Card website at www.isic.org and click on the blue button that says ‘Get A Card‘. You will then need to input the country you are living in or studying in. The cost of the card varies depending on the country of issue and is between €4 – €25.
For students studying in Ireland you can purchase the card for €10 online or at one of the local ISIC issuing outlets.
